My family loves books. I am a pastor and my wife is an English teacher, so not only do we love books, but we also have a lot of books. When I designed our living room entertainment center, I knew I had to make it with as much space for books as possible.

I saw an Ikea Lack inspired bookcase on www.ana-white.com that became my inspiration for the entire entertainment center. My bookcases are 84 inches tall instead of 72 inches as described on Ana’s website. Also, I added adjustable shelves. I attached two shelves at the height of 28 inches and 42 inches, but the rest of the shelves I made adjustable with the Kreg Shelf Pin Jig.

I was planning on making a simple frame for doors. However, my wife thought normal doors were boring. I showed her a few options, and she really liked the Anthropologie inspired doors on www.shanty-2-chic.com. I just had to make a few adjustment to the plans from Shanty 2 Chic to get the doors to fit the bookcases.
