In DIY Crafts, Seasonal

Hanukkah is just around the corner.  You may be thinking, why is a Christian pastor celebrating Hanukkah?  It is a long story, but I will try to keep it short and sweet.  My grandfather was Jewish, and while he was not practicing, he would celebrate some of the Jewish holidays.  As a child growing up in a Christian home, I was very curious about Jewish traditions and customs.  When I got older, I really enjoyed learning about Judaism, and I began to celebrate some of the Jewish holidays myself.

My family loves to celebrate Hanukkah.  We turn up Matisyahu, spin the dreidel, and have good time.  My in-laws are usually around during Hanukkah, and they have become part of our celebration.  Last year I made this menorah for my mother-in-law as a Hanukkah present.

I am not sharing plans for this menorah because I came up with an idea to make an easier menorah while I was making this one.  Next week I will share my plans to make a DIY picture frame menorah.
