In DIY Home Accents, Wall Shelves/Storage

I have one more project to share from my wife’s office space.  I wanted to add some storage to the L-Shaped Shelves; I looked for small crates to buy, but everything was expensive or made from cheap materials. So, I decided to just make them myself.

These crates fit perfectly with the L-Shaped Shelves.  We use them to store a lot of office supplies that my wife needs but doesn’t want to clutter up her desk.

Supply List:

  • 1- 1×8
  • 1 – 1×6
  • 1- 1×4

Cut List (Per Crate):

1×8

  • 1 @ 6.75 in (Bottom of Crate)

1×6

  • 2 @ 8.75 in (Front and Back Panel).

1 x 4

  • 2 @6.75 (Side Panels)

Project Plan:

Step 1:  Attach 1×4 side panels to 1×8 bottom piece using brad nails or screws.

Step 2:  Attach 1×6 front and back pieces with brad nails or screws.

Step 3:  Sand and paint

I decided to paint 2 of the 4 crates I made and cover the front of the other 2 crates with fabric.  To cover the front panels, I used spray adhesive.
