In DIY Crafts, DIY Home Accents

Our downstairs half-bath is inspired by the beach.  The main feature in our bathroom is the starfish wall decor that we tried to make look like the wall decorations at a local soap shop.  The starfish wall decor was so easy and relatively inexpensive, but they make a big impact in our small half-bath.

This was the first time I ever used Gorilla Glue, so I went a little overboard.  Thankfully, it is not noticeable when the starfish are attached to the wall.  To get a pattern that we liked, I taped some pieces of newspaper together and laid it out on the floor.  I then arranged the starfish into a pattern I liked.  When the pattern looked good, I punched holes through the newspaper to mark where the starfish would attach.  I then taped the newspaper to the wall and made holes in the wall with the tacks through the holes in the newspaper.  I then took the newspaper down and attached the starfish to wall.
